okay so thru a blessing i had some events line up, and found myself the proud owner of some BC coilovers for the ae86 chassis. first off lemme say....these things are fawking amazing! installation cant get any simpler.
the set i recieved already had the spindles made onto them so , it was naturally a breeze to install all 4 corners in about an hour.
their fully height adjustable from the spindle perch instead of the spring perch itself. they also come with adjustable camber plates in the front, with full spring height and spring preload adjustment. 30 way adjustable dampening is standard on all models, ones with the spindles or without. the rear is equipped with a seperate length adjustable shock, also 30 way dampening adjustable. the rear coil perch sits in place of your factory spring. BC was smart in doing this in 2 pieces, considering the oem shock mount on the ae86 isnt properly braced or supported to take all of the weight from the rear of the car.
the day ii installed them , that night i went out for a test drive......ZOMG!!! im used to cut springs and kyb gr-2's. but anybody that had ever wridden in my car with my previous setup will tell you it actually wrode nice to be the setup it was.i could managably control the car in a slide, hug, or whatever. i expected to have to readjust to the new setup......negative. it was pretty much a point and slide affair.
the setup i recieved was an 8kg front rate, and a 6kg rear rate. it rides like a cadillac with consideration. the feedback is very responsive, and the set also comes with BC's own RCA's....so bump steer is not even in the question.
