ok , its been an age old question , what exactly is in toyotas blend of supercharger oil , that makes it so expensive. well , ive found that it contains the following:
mainly , poly esterol oil
lanolin (whale oil)
teflon
the high price is mostly because of the lanolin.
i have concocted a cocktail of lubricants to make a very good and reliable substitute.
you will need:
ester100; this can be found at just any part store. ask for poly esterol oil , for 134a a/c systems.
lucas pure synthetic stabilizer: this also can be fund just about anywhere lucas products are sold.
royal purple5w-20 oil: harder to find , but is the good stuff.
in a cup , i put :
35ml of polyesterol oil ,
15ml of lucas stabil ,
5ml of royal purple.
this cocktail makes about 55-60ml , good for a good topoff.
the ester is the main ingredient or "base" of the toyota product. next i used the lucas pure synthetic to substitute for the lanolin. i know that the lucas is the slickest and most bonding shit ive ever seen that is synthetic , next to lanolin itself. (also has some of the same soaking propertys as teflon)i used the royal purple thin grade oil , to help thin the mix out a little bit , and to help prevent from breakdown of the oils over time.
all the power i had lost , and thought that i was getting used to the car , or it was losing power , suddenly got revived today!!! i am willing to bet if i had a dyno , i gained at least 20+hp , and at least30+ ft. lbs. today. not because of the cocktail , but because i think my sc casing , was that dry. but i do think the cocktail has a little to do with it. even when i used the toyota stuff , it didnt pull like this.
as i aquire some miles on the car , i will post my results as they come.
edit* update:
as for to date update. i took a 400 mile roundtrip road trip , at a steady 80-85mph the whole entire trip. of course the sc stayed engauged the whole entire time. the good thing is , it never started rattling from over heating. and continue to perform outstanding. about every 30min to an hour i would sprint from 80mph to 110 mph , just to keep a check on it . never left 5th gear , and it climbed speed , and gained torque beautifully!! and once again never over heated.
