dude ask shoob, I made some pretty ballllzy ass power in my gts with a 200+k engine just by switching to a electric fan, eliminated the power steering and ac (didnt work anyways) and putting gze cam gears on it, talk about rev happy, throttle response, and good on gas, u cant beat a 16v for reliability, torque, and easy maintenance, I dogged the living shitttt out of both that Ive had and never had a problem, later

I saw a site with a 3SGE swap guide...looks promising. What do you guys think? 200 stock hp would be great to work with...and the tiptronic clutch would be smexy. Would that be worth investing in? Found a full set up for 800 bucks. Let me know!

Which 3SGE is it? Tiptronic I assume you mean the FR BEAMS from the Altezza RS200. You will need to lower the subframe an inch, and make new mounts. The AE86 subframe has those raised engine mount pads, you'll have to cut them off flat and make plates to bolt the 3SGE to the subframe. The transmission mount is easier. You might have to bang out the firewall, this is a really big engine compared to the 4A's that came in the car originally. You have to lower the subframe so the transmission will fit AND so you can close the hood. The front timing covers are huge because of the dual VVT-i cam pulleys. I have seen some swaps still use the stock 3SGE exhaust manifold. DO NOT use an aftermarket cold air intake or try to make an intake, you must use the OEM pipes, routing, and sizes because the mass airflow sensor is sooooooooooo picky. Dyno tests show the only viable intake upgrade is a TRD drop in filter in the stock airbox, or TRD independent throttles. The big question is, what kind of shape is it in for just 800 bucks? Wire harness and ECU included?
